KAMINARIMON

This time visited Kaminarimon. This is a symbol of Tokyo.
The first Kaminarimon Gate was built during the Heian period, it’s a historical gate.

Matsushita Electric is written in Kanji on the lantern.
It was founded by Konosuke Matsushita (now Panasonic) who rebuilt the Kaminarimon that once burned.
By the way, the installation of this lantern began in the Edo period.

There are two gods placed on the right and left, the god of lightning flash and the god of wind (Fujin and Raijin).

By the way,
You can find the official name of Kaminarimon looking behind the gate, it’s Fengrai Shinmon.

This lantern is too big, you can compare the scale with me (height 152 cm) in the following photo.

Because there are so many people during the day,if you would like to take photos, I recommend coming to take very nice pictures early in the morning or at sunset
(It is also lit at night, so you can enjoy a different environment)
